大象视频 Hosts 2025 STEM Fair, Welcoming Students and Showcasing Resources

大象视频 (RCC) brought innovation and opportunity to the forefront during its 2025 STEM Fair, held on October 16, with more than 300 students in attendance. The annual event highlighted RCC鈥檚 commitment to advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education while connecting students with the tools, hands on learning, clubs, and resources to support their academic and career goals.

The fair featured over 20 student resources, campus programs, and community partners, creating a dynamic environment for students to explore pathways in STEM. Interactive booths offered opportunities to engage directly with faculty, industry representatives, and peers who share a passion for innovation. Students discovered resources ranging from research opportunities and tutoring support to internship connections and transfer pathways to four-year universities.

"The expo was a huge hit. The breezeways and walkway were crammed with excited students throughout the 3-hour event. Students were able to get information about all sorts of opportunities and resources, and they could win prizes like beats headphones, iPads, and a nintendo switch 2, thanks to the generosity of Southern California Edison, " explained Virgina White, PhD, Professor of Botany.

"Our transfer and research partners' tables were a huge hit. That end of the expo was buzzing from before the expo even officially opened. We're so grateful to those universities who came to connect with our students, " reported White.

"The number one reason students said they attended was to connect with STEM clubs. In fact, that was among the most common suggestions for next year- have more clubs! Thanks to all the STEM Clubs who came out to the expo and invited the attendees to participate in their activities," further reported White.

The STEM Fair also provided a platform for students to learn about career opportunities in high-demand fields, gain exposure to hands-on demonstrations, and build networks that extend beyond the classroom.
